One of the strongest fundamental tenets of Rainbow’s philosophy is connection and the importance of establishing and helping children learn how to make connections. Connection - is how all of us are neuro-biologically wired: it is why we are here and it is what gives meaning and purpose to our lives. At Rainbow we give special attention to maintaining an environment that is alive, welcoming and authentic to which a child feels secure in their community - One in which they can build positive friendships, where they know they can depend on teachers to be supportive and loving and where families and teachers work together to insure each child knows and feels a strong sense of worthiness.
A child's "job" is to be a child and it is our job to provide a variety of experiences designed to nurture mind, body and spirit. We place a special emphasis on reading to the kids, and on positive interaction between children and staff. We have created a loving place with lots of space for our kids to grow. Small touches like fresh flowers, gardens, hugs and laughter are standard!
Ours is a welcoming environment in which a teacher’s dialogue with children, families, and the community is fundamental to our program. Each group’s curriculum emerges from children’s intellectual curiosity, social interactions and interests. We recognize a child as a strong and competent individual who has the right to receive the best care and education and because we know that children learn best through play and experimentation and discovery, our goal is to provide a wide variety of experiences; building self-confidence, creativity and fostering intellectual development.
