PHILOSOPHY & CURRICULUM
A Philosophy of Nurturing
We believe that young children learn best through play, exploration, and discovery. A child's "job" is to be a child, and it is our goal to provide a variety of experiences designed to nurture mind, body, and spirit. We place a special emphasis on reading to the kids, and on positive interaction between children and staff. We have created a loving place with lots of space for our kids.
Small touches like fresh flowers, hugs and laughter are standard! Ours is a welcoming environment in which a teacher’s dialogue with children, families, and the community is fundamental to our program. Each group’s curriculum emerges from children’s intellectual curiosity, social interactions and interests. We recognize a child as a strong and competent individual who has the right to receive the best care and education that we can offer. We know that children learn best through play and experimentation. Our goal is to provide a variety of experiences for children, building self-confidence and creativity and fostering intellectual development.

Curriculum and Kindergarten Readiness
Typical preschool activities are woven throughout our day, and our core curriculum is enhanced with extras such as spring and winter performances, celebrations, and special activities - such as hatching duckling eggs - designed to provide all the children an opportunity to learn in an interactive, exciting way.
We focus on language development, social skills such as manners and methods of positive interaction, reading, and improving gross and fine motor skills. In addition, kids in the older groups are prepared for kindergarten through letter and number practice, counting games, learning their address and phone number, and calendar awareness. |
Rainbow's rich curriculum includes:

Environment is Essential!
Rainbow is a private preschool conveniently located at the south entrance of the beautiful city of Boulder, Colorado. We are just west of the intersection of Table Mesa Drive and Broadway. Our building was created with wall-to-wall windows to let in as much natural light as possible, allowing the children to enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains and Boulder itself. Each room was created to foster a specific type of developmental play. They are kept full of resources which are geared to captivate curiosity as well as creativity.
